'Batman v Superman' Producer Charles Roven Shifts his Role in the DCEU

HaydnSpurrell HaydnSpurrell With Ben Affleck now as an executive producer on Justice League and playing a prominent role in the screenplay by Chris Terrio, things are changing at Warner Bros. when it comes to its DC Cinematic Universe.

DC Chief Creative Officer Geoff Johns has been named as overseer for the franchise, with the intent on injecting "hope and optimism" in the franchise. Longtime producer Charles Roven is the latest chess piece to shift, no longer serving in that role on the DCEU films.

THR are reporting a potential shift for Roven within the massive Warner Bros. operation, potentially to executive producer with less involvement in the day-to-day production process. Roven has produced Man of Steeland Batman v Superman up to this point, as well as the upcoming Suicide Squad and Wonder Woman films.

The report states that Roven is still a"key member" at WB, and may produce for sequels to films he's already currently involved in (Suicide Squad, for one). Aquaman and The Flash seem to be the two films directlyy impacted by the news, with Roven originally slated to produce on both, which is no longer the case.
