Bond Closer to Fitting into the Modern World, Daniel Craig Believes

HaydnSpurrell HaydnSpurrell Daniel Craig, starring as 007 for the past decade, labels the character as "very f-cking lonely", and that the character hadn't quite adapted into the modern world completely just yet.

The actor told Esquire that there is a "great sadness" in Bond's life.

"He's f-cking these beautiful women but then they leave and it's... sad. And as a man gets older it's not a good look... the reality, after a couple of months..."

It's a common trait in fiction like this, that tends to romanticise the action hero that enjoys the luxuries of a life that just doesn't exist. The popularity of 'Skyfall' may well come from the depth that was added to the character that's been so unchanging for so long.

"Hopefully, my Bond is not as sexist and misogynistic as (previous representations). The world has changed. I am certainly not that (kind of) person. But he is."

His fourth appearance as Bond in Spectre is set to hit cinemas November 6, and comes with added pressure on the heels of 'Skyfall'.
