Message from the King (not the King of Wakanda) is Netflix latest American revenge-action-thriller starring Chadwick Boseman and Luke Evans, and is directed by Belgian filmmaker Fabrice Du Welz (Hallelujah, Vinyan).

Boseman plays Jacob King, a man from South Africa who arrives in Los Angeles from South Africa, looking for his younger sister. Within 24 hours, he has found out that she has been brutally murdered and the film follows King through a period of six days as he seeks revenge on the men responsible for his sister's murder.

Less Lee Moore of Modern Horrors.com reviewed Message from the King shortly after it's premiere at 2016 Toronto International Film Festival and drew parallels to Soderbergh's The Limey and Winding-Refn's Drive and The Neon Demon - in feel and location - stating "no one is purely good in this film, but some are purely evil. It’s du Welz’ most restrained yet narratively compelling film to date and it’s one that bodes well for what should be a long and successful career."

Message from the King co-stars Teresa Palmer and Alfred Molina and is streaming exclusively on Netflix. Check it out and drop a review on Cultjer.com!
