Deadpool Sequel in the Works at 20th Century Fox
Get ready for more Deadpool, even before we've had any at all. The film is tracking for a massive opening this weekend, and the understandably confident studio has already penciled a sequel into its notebook.
Via THR, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick have been brought back to write the sequel following their work on Deadpool, and the project has already been greenlit. While this could change should the film bomb, it seems highly unlikely to. Analysts predict a $65 million opening weekend.
This recalls last years Fantastic Four, a sequel for which had been penned in for 2017. That has since been scrapped, as reported, but hopefully the same fate isn't set for the Ryan Reynolds-led superhero flick.
Deadpool opens Feb 12.
