Should the final season of Dexter end in jail?

Nobody wants a good thing to end. But the best tv series end with a plan. There’s nothing worse than a show that keeps lingering on and on and no one cares about in the end. So now that we know it’s going to end, how do we want it to end? We all love our favorite serial killer. But that’s what he is, a serial killer...

People who don’t watch Dexter don’t understand. You’re rooting for the killer? That’s just wrong. CSI in reverse. But if Dexter Morgan has taught us anything, it’s that serial killers are people too. They have their own issues and problems. They have family. They have children. See, now that I'm seriously talking about it, it starts to sound disturbing, doesn’t it?

We’ve already seen Dexter kill innocent people. He’s not a nice guy trying to use his dark passenger for the greater good. Imagine yourself on his table. Not a pretty picture, is it?

So you decide. Do you feel like our favorite killer deserves jail time, or worse? Or can he ride out in the sunset at the end of season 8?
