The CW Orders Pilot for Military Drama 'Valor'

HaydnSpurrell HaydnSpurrell The CW has greenlit a pilot for Valor, a military drama series written by kyle Jarrow, who will executive produce alongside Bill Habo. CBS Television Studios is producing the series, which will blur the lines between military discipline and human desire, both of which are tested on a U.S. army base housing an elite unit of helicopter pilots trained for international and domestic missions.

The drama will take place in both the present as well as via flashbacks to a failed mission involving one of the first female pilots in the unit, which unravels personal and governmental secrets that lead to the season-long plan to rescue a group of MIA soldiers.

It comes at a time where army-focused pilots are being ordered frequently. NBC has ordered For God and Country, while CBS has set up an untitled Navy SEAL pilot. Let's not get into why there's a sudden surge in this kind of storytelling on the small screen. The CW skews to a younger audience, so it's an interesting project for the network.
