Director Chris Miller talks about the epic story of Puss in Boots

Antonio Banderas: Puss in Boots is physically a very little kitty cat. Who becomes an epic hero.

Chris Miller (Director): He deserved a real epic tale.

Salma Hayek: The story takes you to avenues that are really unexpected.

Chris Miller (Director): I wanted to direct Puss in Boots because I just felt this character deserved his own story and an origin story. Really diving in to what his world would be like.

“Oh no no no, you really don’t have to tell me your whole life story, please.” “We’re gonna see.”

Antonio Banderas: Actually, his whole entire life because we’re going to see him since he is a very little kitty cat. And he is in an orphanage.

Chris Miller (Director): Puss’s house, a really complex house. Particularly with Humpty Alexander Dumpty. Both he and Puss grew up together and quickly became best friends. They spend their childhood searching for these magic beans. They lived off this dream.

“They’ll grow a spine straight up into the clouds, where a terrible and a fierce some giant herds his greatest treasure.”

Chris Miller (Director): But to actually steel the Golden Goose from the land of the giants you’re gonna need a third partner.

Salma Hayek: I play Kitty Softpaws, it’s hard to keep a straight face when I say her name. I am a thief, I can steel you blind and you won’t even notice.
