What made director Sam Raimi’s Oz beat Bryan Singer’s Giant Slayer with such big numbers? The ratings show the movies were about equally mediocre. Oz had a good cast and popular source material. Jack the Giant Slayer had, well, Giants. But there’s one thing that made Oz stand out above the giants. An incredibly cute and funny flying monkey. Brilliantly played by Zach Braff.
