Playboy James Franco and innocent Mila Kunis

We meet James Franco in a black and white intro that takes so long, you start to wonder if the whole movie will be filmed in this dull fashion. He plays Oz, a down-and-out magician looking for a breakthrough. A part Franco plays more convincingly than the hey-I’m-in-a-fantasy-land Oz we see later in the film.

Magically flown into the land of Oz, he meets Theodora, an innocent witch who instantly falls in love with Oz. There's not much chemistry found between the two actors. Theodora is actually played so sweet and naive by Mila Kunis, you wonder if she even knows what the term fornication means.
