The Oscars Ceremony May Be Heading in a New Direction

JamesArthurArmstrong JamesArthurArmstrong We reported a few days back that the Acadsmy are considering a new approach to the Best Picture category, but reports are emerging that they may also be looking to revamp the ceremony, too.

Reports of major changes to the ceremony became a possibility when producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron — who have been working on the Oscars show for the last three years — have hinted that they may not be coming back for their fourth year.

Although no official statement has been made public regarding Zadan or Meron's status, word started to spread after Zadan tweeted out a message that read like he'd made his desicsion as to whether he's going to continue as producer of the show. The tweet read;

@craigzadan - Hoping that whoever produces the #Oscars next year will retain our innovations: #TeamOscar program & reading all 24 nom on Oscar nom morning

Since sending this tweet out, Zadan has retweeted messages from followers asking if he would be back to produce the 88th Academy Awards, and even a few articles suggesting that he may not return, but he has not yet commented either way. Meron's has yet comment on this news, too.
