Disney's Streaming Service Will Be Called Disney+

ZachPerilstein ZachPerilstein Disney Reporter Staying in line with other Disney direct-to-consumer service ESPN+. Disney+ will be the showcase for family entertainment centered around five distinct brands Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic.

Today on Disney's quarter four earnings call Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that Disney's streaming service would be called Disney+, not Disney Play as previously reported.

Disney also confirmed today the current developments for the streaming service which included a Loki series starring Tom Hiddleston and a brand-new announcement in a second live-action Star Wars series starring Diego Luna as Captain Cassian Andor in a prequel series to Rogue One.

Hulu is expected to maintain most of the adult properties from 21st Century Fox.

Disney+ comes out in 2019.
